On January 30, 2018 at the International Westminster University of Tashkent was held a "round table" on "Improving the investment attractiveness of the Republic of Uzbekistan". The event was organized jointly with the Institute of strategic and regional studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan (ISRS). Professors, undergraduates and students of the University graduates, as well as the ISRS experts took part in it.

The round table was organized: to support the efforts of the government of Uzbekistan aimed at ensuring the dynamic growth of the national economy through discussion and development of new ideas for attracting foreign investment and technology.

In particular, the following topical issues were discussed at the event:

1. International experience of applying the most effective mechanisms for attracting and retaining foreign capital in the country.
2. The main problems and factors constraining the flow of investment to the Republic of Uzbekistan.
3. Identifying priority sectors of the economy of Uzbekistan to attract potential investors, methods of calculating the use of financial resources involved.
4. Ways to improve the tax system in order to increase the attractiveness of the country for foreign investors.

Particular attention is paid to consideration of practical aspects of the implementation of the second stage of the Strategy of Actions of the Republic of Uzbekistan within the framework of the State Program "Year of support of active entrepreneurship, innovative ideas and technologies".

It was noted that the organized "round table" will help to strengthen contacts between the leading "think tanks" and higher educational institutions of Uzbekistan. It provides an opportunity to establish cooperation in the field of training promising young professionals for information and analytical activity on the implementation of domestic and foreign policies of the country.
